GUI (init-5) not working
 
i'm facing a issue. Linux GUI mode not working on my system as i checked init-3 level working fine. some days before init-5 was also working. Can you please suggest where's the problem. and which rpm required for access init-5 level. i'm using Centos 32 bit

Check /var/log/Xorg.0.log for errors and explain whats not working.

Boot into level 3, the run 'startx' and post the errors.

As i checked there are following logs found in "/var/log/Xorg.0.log"


using config file: /etc/X11/xorg.conf
server layout "Default Layout"
==) --> Screen "Screen0" (0)
==) --> DEvice "Videiocard0"
==) No Monitor specified for screen "Screen0"
Using a default monitor configuration.
(**) :--> Input Device "Keyboard0"
(**) :--> Input Device "Synaptics"
(II) No Default mouse found, adding one
(==) no frontPath specified . Using compiled-in default.
unix/:7100
built-ins

I don't see nothing, should be way bigger then log. What DE are you using, KDE or Gnome or ???

I think you missed what Chrism01 had asked you to do

Run "startx" or "init 5" from the shell and post the output which you get

if i'm trying to use startx or init 5 then it's not responding. it just show blank screen i have to restart my system forcefully.

OK, I think you also missing you mention what you are using OS and DE and DM (DE = desktop environment, DM = desktop manager, OS = what linux distro).

Also if you need help read what it's asked form you, like proper logs and so on.
