grub boot page is not shown

I have installed ubuntu server 10.04 and also compiled manually a new version of kernel. The problem is I can not see the grub boot loader page that allow me to select which should be started. On a desktop however grub boot page is shown by default. How can I enable that in server?

Hi,

try running update-grub in a console with privileges and you should be good.

I somehow managed to let go of my internet connection for a while. lol.

So the above link does not open at my end. Would you like to upload a screenshot/image so that we can have a look at it and help you accordingly?

Thanks for a reply after 3 month

See this for example:

However I don't see that page and the system automatically boots the default. How can bring that page up at startup?
