GIT Version Control System - need help getting started

I'm new to linux and I am trying to set up a GIT Version Control System as a server on a CentOS 5.2 system and run agents on multiple windows xp systems that would report back to git. I have GIT installed on centos and i have the GIT bash on windows but i'm not sure where to start as far as setting up my centos system to act as a server to the windows boxes. Can anyone help me get started?

I've watched the slides with voiceover on this page, and it's definitely the best introduction to Git itself that I've seen:
