Getting an error while changing sendmail config file...

I am trying to change the configuration of sendmail so that I can relay mail through google smtp server as suggested here.

First I ran 'm4 sendmail,mc > sendmail.cf' with the original .mc file that came with Fedora 10. There was no error.

I added the following lines.
Quote:
TRUST_AUTH_MECH(`EXTERNAL DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN')dnl
define(`confAUTH_MECHANISMS', `EXTERNAL GSSAPI DIGEST-MD5 CRAM-MD5 LOGIN PLAIN')dnl
FEATURE(`authinfo','hash /etc/mail/auth/client-info.db')dnl
define(`SMART_HOST',`smtp.gmail.com')dnl
define(`RELAY_MAILER_ARGS’, `TCP $h 587′)
define(`ESMTP_MAILER_ARGS’, `TCP $h 587′)
I ran ''m4 sendmail,mc > sendmail.cf' again and got this message:
Quote:
m4:/usr/share/sendmail-cf/mailer/procmail.m4:33: ERROR: end of file in argument list
I did not change anything in the procmail.m4 file.
What do you think caused this error?

Could it be the single quotes? I recall the file being picky about opening with ` and closing with ' (a straight single quote).

I see one instance of you opening with a ' quote and two instances of you closing with a right sided smart quote ′ in some of your options.

Try adding dnl (the comment introducer) on the end of your last two "define"s (as is done on the ones above them).

hmm, why are the dnl's even there if there are no comments after them? I'd also try removing them if there are no comments.
