Found invalid password for user: 'root@localhost'; Ignoring user

CENTOS 5.5 x86_64 with cPanel

SQL keeps failing on the server, I am fairly new to server admin, and am not sure what I have done to cause this problem.

In the sql error log it seems to indicate there is some problem with the root password. I did recently change the root password, in the WHM interface, but I have checked in /root/.my.cnf and the password is there, so I am not sure why SQL is failing and giving the error that the password is invalid.

Does anyone know if there is somewhere else I need to enter the password to start SQL?

I have actually got SQL to restart by again entering the root pswd in WHM >> SQL Services >> My SQL Root Password

I am not sure what happened or why it suddenly stopped being recognised, but at least SQL is starting again now, so for now it is fixed....
