Forwarding Root Mail to Exchange or ISP

Hi there,

I seem to have an issue on forwarding Mail, I have tried .forward and change the root in aliases.

I have also reconfigured the sendmail.mc so that the ip address is in the smart hosts

I have tried to send test mails but they are not getting to mail servers either the exchange or the ISP.

Can any one shed some light on this issue.

what have you put in the .forward file?
and the alias file?

best thing to do is

Code:
tail -f /var/log/maillog &

then send a message to that address.
when finished, kill the tail -f by

Code:
kill %1

The .foward file has .

/root, email@here.com

and the aliases files has

root: email@here.com

When I look at the Mail for root its showing me that the message was not sent to the email account.

Will do the above and let you know what I get back.
