I'm fairly new to Linux but have had a steep learning curve (15 years in Windows System admin) I have now set up a number of servers with SLES 11 including a mail server.
My question is and I do hope that someone can help is; We have a mail server all set up and able to receive and send no problems. However we have a couple of users who need to access their emails on the move, now the easiest way for me is for them to VPN into the network and then bob's your uncle they're able to access emails. However this is not suitable to them and they would like to have their emails sent to an external address.
Is there any way I can set up a rule to enable emails to be forwarded on (I know I can do it in Windows exchange and if they keep their Macs on I can set up a rule there, but I'm stumped with Linux).

Many thanks in anticipation of an answer.

The short answer is yes.
A longer answer would require more information from you.
I noticed the link was for Dovecot, we're running postfix.
Postfix is the SMTP server (MTA). There must be a MDA like Exim, Dovecot, Cyrus IMAP etc. installed on your server. Which one is the information we need to help you.
