well there is no such thing as an "ssh password" unless you're referring to an rsa psk passphrase, which i'd very much doubt... you certainly can't reset the password without already having local access to the box. hook up a monitor and keyboard, log in locally as root and change away. if you actually mean you've forgotten the root password (don't ssh as root!) then on the boot loader screen you can boot to single user mode. if it's grub, just tack "1" onto the kernel boot options.
