Finding Proxy Server

Hello All,

Is there anyway to find the proxy server name/address with a tool like
ping, traceroute?

Thanks

showmyip.com

If you are trying to find the proxy address you are using, you can visit a site such as showmyip.com. When I use vidalia (tor + privoxy), showmyip recognizes that a tor proxy node is being used and displays the ip address and location of the node.

But I guess you are trying to discover the proxy address of someone visiting you? Maybe you should read up on how sites such as the one above discover such things.

Thank you for your reply ehawk.
I think i can ask this question a little bit further.
Suppose we have an internal network and proxy controlling these hosts so
any internal host can make any dns query (or another method) to learn the ip/host address information for that proxy server?

Thanks
