Fedora 14 Dogtag CA server
Hi there,
I'm having problems with Dogtag Certificate System, i have installed a CA Root on another machine and create a Security Domain, and now I'm installing this CA which is supposed to be subordinated to it. After creating the PKI i can access the configuration web page, but when i get to the Security Domain section, i choose "Join Security Domain", enter the url and get this error:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: The string "--" is not permitted within comments.

a question
you are setting this up on a fedora 14 OS ?
if so I hope you like resetting up the servers and reinstalling EVERY 6 MONTHS .
fedora 15 will be out in 5 months and all support for 14 will end in 12 months ( 30 days after fedora 16 comes out)

Thanks for the response,
If this works on Fedora 14, I don't see why would I have to reset and reinstall every 6 months. New releases doesn't mean old ones suddenly stop working. Either way, what alternative OS do you suggest for this?

with fedora IT DOSE !!!
because fedora 14 has ONLY a 13 month life span .A VERY short life span
in 12 months there will NEVER ever be any updates to it ever again -- no holes fixed no software updates ,no security fixes, no nothing!
yes you might be able to use "preupgrade" in 6 months to install fedora 15 but it dose not work 100% 100% of the time

SLES may be - it has a 5 year life span
RHEL 6 it also has a 5 to 7 year life span
or any of the LONG life server OS's

Same Boat
I found this http://wiki.metawerx.net/wiki/Org.xm...WithinComments.
But it may not even be the same issue. Been cleaning up the copy right statement where they sprayed
"---"
throughout still no joy.
As far as running Fedora, the other poster is partly right, but it all depends on your application.
If the box is never exposed, who cares what security holes it may have. So what support ends, if it ain't broken don't fix it.
If you find the smoking gun let me know, I will do like wise.

CentOS it is
Just in the process of that myself, I haven't run Fedora in a long time so it was a good exercise in futility :-)
