you are aware that fedora 12 is 5 versions out of date
and is NOT supported any longer
Fedora 12 went
End Of Life on 2010-12-02
there have been NO security updates or fixes for almost 2 years
And there will NEVER be any
Fedora 17 is the CURRENT version
most of the
( now DEAD ) mirrors for fedora 12 are off line
( and they have NOT been updated since Dec. 2010 )

2) use some other LINUX os
NOT WINDOWS - yes bold and CAP --- DO NOT USE MS WINDOWS TO EDIT THE FILE !!!---
3) copy it back
but WHY copy it to a thumb drive any way ????
just edit it in place .
