fastcgi cannot find php files after I created nginx chroot environment

I have a web server up and running. I decided to make another, the exact same, except using a chroot JAIL for nginx. I followed the Nginx ArchWiki to set up the chroot. I have the html part working but I can't get my php files to work. Right now I am getting the following error:

*10 FastCGI sent in stderr: "Primary script unknown" while reading response header from upstream, client

I assume this is a path related issue. I have tried various configurations for open_basedir in php.ini and root in nginx.conf but I am not exactly sure how they relate.

If anyone could clarify the issue or if anyone has any other ideas I would greatly appreciate them.

Found it. php-fpm.conf has a variable "chroot" which must match the path of the nginx chroot jail.

chroot jail, fastcgi, nginx, php
