EXT-fs error (device dm-0) ext3_lookup: unlinked inode 4587763 in dir # 458752
I have the following problem.
while I was using the server, I came across the fsck command. I used it but it gave me a warning but I clicked yes to the first option then I clicked ctrl+c to stop it. I then got a bug problem. I restarted the system but I had a big problem. The system will not boot. It gives the errot: EXT-fs error (device dm-0) ext3_lookup: unlinked inode 4587763 in dir # 458752 EXT-fs error (device dm-0) ext3_lookup: unlinked inode 25362433 EXT-fs error (device dm-0) ext3_lookup: unlinked inode 25362433 worning :can't access (null) exec of init ((null)) failes!!!! bad address kernel panic - not syncing : attempted to kill init What should I do, I went to grub and I used the TAB to see the commands that I can use but I can get no where. Is there a way to solve this problem. Help |
Boot from a live cd or boot from the install cd and choose rescue mode. Don't mount any filesystems from the disk, just run fsck for each partition.

May well be too late of course.
"server" == "good backups" ?. |
I did boot from original CD. I chose linux rescue. yet, I got into a graphical screen asking either to install fresh copy of upgrade. this means a loss of data
|
I chose upgrade, I got a message related to /usr/tmp and when I press OK for it, the system reboots and I go back to the same error screen.

Restore backup is the solution. Thanks all
