error while loading shared libraries: libtalloc.so.2


hey,


i am trying to install a new samba server form the source.i have compiled as well as installed the package.now whenever i start the smbd service it gives me the following error.

/usr/local/samba/sbin/smbd: error while loading shared libraries: libtalloc.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

help me out please.....

what os you have? maybe this lib is not installed

hey,


thanks for the reply actually the problem was with the missing libraries in my redhat linux machine.and so you were right.....i followed your advice

The reason ca also be if the path variable is not set for the missing library in such case use find command to locate the location of library and then set the PATH variable according to the location
