error on my LUNS
Dear All
I am running HP EVA 8000 with RHEL 5.7 (Lun Size 6.7 T )
The problem i face many times recently File system error at my Luns /dev/mapper/Linux-Lun (/dev/sdb , /dev/sdh/ ,/dev/sde /dev/sdj)
My Question is :
Is there any way to make file system check on just one subsystem like
check /dev/sdb "because if i will check my Lun it will take too long time"
Regards

Hi,
Could you explain "/dev/sdb, /dev/sdh/, /dev/sde and /dev/sdj" are different paths of your single LUN (multipathing) or seperate LUNS?

Ok so you have a single lun, but multiple paths back to the storage. If these are all the same multipath device then the entire file system will need to be checked.

What "file system errors" are you seeing, exactly? Please copy/paste and use code tags.

Ouch! Yes, plan a downtime and run the fsck(8).
I was just checking to be sure you weren't seeing the usual flurry of various (harmless) errors reported by RHEL systems on LUNs that haven't been partitioned.
Another question for you: are you accessing the LUN from only this host? Or multiple hosts?

no just from that host (One host )
Is there another solution
Because for scan that lun 6.7 T takes very long time

Absolutely not. Bite the bullet, plan a downtime, and do a fsck(8). The longer you wait on this - with a live filesystem - the more risk you're putting your current data and future writes in.
edit: I shouldn't have to say this, but will anyway: ensure you have a good filesystem backup before proceeding.
