Smile Drupal Site with different FQDN

Thanks in advance for the help.

Already we have a Drupal Website in English (Apache WebServer on CentOS 5.7).

'www.example.com' --> /var/www/html

We are adding a Hindi language version of this Website in the same machine under the below location

'hindi.example.com' --> /var/www/html/hindi

If we hit 'www.example.com' then the current website loads. What we expect is to load the hindi version website if someone hits 'hindi.example.com' on their browser. For this can you please explain what are the changes I've to make on the Apache Web Server and the DNS end (we've our own BIND DNS server). Thank you.

  • Create a DNS entry for hindi.example.com pointing to the IP address of your web server.
  • Configure apache for named virtual hosting.
  • Create a named virtual config for hindi.example.com using /var/www/html/hindi as the document root.

There's plenty of guides out there on each of these processes, Google is your friend
