Does anyone have a beginner's SAMBA Guide for 2.0.10?

I've been running linux at home for a little over 3 years but I'm totally new to SAMBA. My server distro (OpenWRT) uses SAMBA 2.0.10 but I understand the latest version is SAMBA 3.x. I expect there's a big difference between 2.x and 3.x but I don't know. I've been reading the smb.conf man page for 2.0.10 but I was hoping someone would know of a good newbie's guide for 2.0.10 - ideally one with lots of smb.conf examples. Can anyone help?

Cheers

P.S. can Windows XP Home Edition connect to a SAMBA share or do I have to use XP Pro?

Yes, Windows XP Home Edition can connect to Samba shares.

You should check out the documents on the OpenWRT website.

Do you not have a computer running a 'full' distro that you could setup Samba on?
