DNS Server (BIND9)
Not sure if I should post this here or in Networking, but here goes...
I am trying to setup a DNS server at my house to play with. I have Ubuntu Gutsy and have BIND9 installed and running. I have a domain (sceserver.com) pointed to my IP address of 99.164.66.246 as ns1.sceserver.com. My DNS record is $ttl 1 sceserver.com. IN SOA sceserver.com. hostmaster.sceserver.com. ( 1203694583 1 1 1 1 ) sceserver.com. IN NS sceserver.com. sceserver.com. IN A 99.166.64.246 www IN CNAME sceserver.com. The TTLs are low until I figure out whats wrong. I cannot ping sceserver.com. Its unknown. The goal is to host my own website for the family and a website for some friends with two separate domains. I am no longer sure if I am even going about this the right way. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
Ignore me. I am not patient enough. It is resolving now after me just waiting for a minute. :P
