Spell check for TB and Firefox? They already come with a spelling checker. Just add-on your language dictionary. Am I misunderstanding?

How are those applications going to connect to this client/server spell checker dictionary?

Its one thing to create a client/server dictionary or spell checker. Its a completely different matter to make exising applications use the service. The applications would have to be modified at the source code level by all the vendors to make use if the client/server APIs.

There are various spell checkers and libraries (aspell, ispell, enchant, hunspell, etc.). And there are dictionary client/servers (dict). You still need a way to interface with them.
