dhcp ldap ?
 
hello..
Can any one pls explain about this LDAP .
on executing command dhcpd eth1 i am getting "Not searching LDAP since ldap-server, ldap-port and ldap-base-dn were not pecified in the config file.although my dhcp server is working fine.
pls explain about it.i have gone through the manual pages but not able to understand.i am using ISC DHCP Server V3.0.1 (Default with Mandrake 10.1)

have you defined those options? do you wish to use ldap? no to both? then there's no problem is there? just ignore the message, or possibly lower the level of debugging if that's possible.

no i havent defined this (ldap )option in dhcpd.conf ..i want to know about it ..what is the use of it and how to configure it.

You can use an LDAP server to provide mac->ip mappings (and other information) to the DHCP server as needed. In most non-enterprise environments, this is a non-issue.
