determine IP on cable modem

SUMMARY: Using Fedora Core 2. Installed to run as a desktop server to host a website. Can't connect to network.

I have been on a journey trying to host a website. I haven't hit the "x" yet, but I've been digging all around.

the first stop lead me to involved installing fedora core 2. I installed mysql and apache and php. And then I left it all alone. Well, back on the hunt I wanted to update OS so I downloaded the latest fedora image and tried to install from Cdrom, but the computer fails to boot from the cd,
_ I looked for an answer here I thought that grub had interefered with the bios because I trie dto use other cd's, I changed the drive, but nothing worked.

_I decided to press on and build from here and just do like a network install, but I can't get connect to anything.

These are the past threads:
****Sorry I'm working with a kvm switch so I can't copy and past output, I'm having to type all the output.*****

Download CentOS 4.4 and set it up as a server. It is very stable since it is a clone of RHEL. It should detect the ethernet connection to your modem automatically on install.

FC 2 is rather dated.

Yeah, I know it's dated but I can't install anything else. When I download anything to a cd, the drive will not boot from the cd.

Could you post the contents of the / (root) directory of the cd?
