Dell PowerEdge 1750 - RAID

Hi guys,

I've a dell poweredge 1750 which running on RHEL 3. It has 2 harddisk and both are running.

My questions are:-
1) I am not sure whether it's running on software or hardware raid. How can i check?
2) How do i check whether the mirroring is running and the status.

I've capture some information that i think might be helpful:-

[root@localhost root]# cat /proc/mdstat
Personalities :
read_ahead not set
Event: 0
unused devices: <none>

[root@localhost root]# df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda9 2.0G 393M 1.5G 21% /
/dev/sda3 190M 11M 170M 6% /boot
none 1.9G 0 1.9G 0% /dev/shm
/dev/sda8 1012M 34M 927M 4% /tmp
/dev/sda5 9.7G 3.0G 6.3G 32% /usr
/dev/sda6 9.7G 3.0G 6.2G 33% /var
/dev/sda2 2.5G 712M 1.7G 30% /home
/dev/sda10 41G 14G 25G 36% /data

Please advice.

Thanks

rgds.

I have run a few different distros on various poweredge servers, and mostly, if supported by the distro, raid controller info shows up under:
/proc/scsi
Have a look at the files/folders and see what you can see...

Hardware raid would be setup in the controller (CTRL+A, CTRL+S or similar just after BIOS). You should be able to determine this from there, however software raid info should be available within the OS ( I'm not sure, where - never done a software raid under linux), but try Linux Volume Management (LVM)... I'm pretty sure that does the software raid...
