As an user has left my company, I need to copy their mails stored in a mailbox into another user's mailbox. I did "cp" command and all the needed mails are now physically in the destination mailbox but I can't see them from the mail client (thunderbird). I tried the command "reconstruct -r" but no success...

Cyrus uses the maildir type of messages where each message is a text file versus the mbox type where all the INBOX messages are stored in one single file called INBOX.

It is easier to extract messages from an mbox type of INBOX.

I know there are perl scripts that will allow you to transfer between the two types. There may also be perl scripts that can convert the maildir or mbox messages to another format so that you can import the messages elsewhere.

Another alternative is to setup your Outlook Express to read from both mailboxes then just simply copy one INBOX to the other.

Actually, I'm unable to set up mail client using the old mailbox because the account of this mailbox has been deleted. The only way I have is to try to manage this issue with linux commands.
