cutting down the download spped in fedora 4.0


dear all,

i am very new to linux, in my office i have installed two fedora 4.0(-kerbel 2.6.11. i have configured squid proxy server in both of the servers

one server is giving service to the internet for 50 computer and the other for 50 computers

the problem is our internet service provider alloted for us 1 GB(maximum) of download for a day. if suppose the users are downloading more than 1 gb(alloted). after that the internet traffic is geeting slow down.

so i would like to cutdown the download speed as minimum as i can.


give me a suggetion on this problem

what do you exactly want to cutdown here. all your traffic seems to be http? am i right?

as i mentioned in my earlier tread about cut down (decrease) the download speed

I think you should look into ipfw, this is commonly available with FreeBSD.
