CUPS upgraded to 1.3.9 on slackware, now wont start....

Hey all,

I upgraded CUPS to version 1.3.9 from version 1.1.21 and now it wont start.

I am on slackware and used the upgradepkg to get 1.3.9 into the system...

this is the response I got after running /etc/rc.d/rc.cups restart

/usr/sbin/cupsd: error while loading shared libraries:
libldap-2.3.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory

any help is greatly appreciated, i need this server back fast.

I had an issue with cups not starting (not the same as you, I can't recall what it was) after upgrading to 1.3.9 a few weeks ago and after pulling out a few thousand hairs I downgraded back to 1.3.7

Perhaps not the solution you were looking for, but effective nonetheless.

cheers,

I forgott mention, I'm on slackware 9.1 ...................debated upgrading to my favorite debian and starting anew, but was afriad of networking nightmares. I'm a web dev that had this project fall in my lap. :-(

Thanks for your help.

I ended up finding a link thru slackware,

http://packages.slackware.it/search....9.1&t=1&q=cups

and even went back a further version (1.1.19)

works great now.

THANKS LINUX COMMUNITY!
