Hi All,

I have a Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9.1 and am running cups for my printing to printers attached to Windows XP PC's.

These have been running fine until one stopped today with (from lpstat -p winrecepmain_gen):

printer winrecepmain_gen disabled since Jan 01 00:00 -
Unable to locate printer 'winrecepmain' - Unknown host

I can ping winrecepmain and telnet winrecepmain 515

The name is being resolved through a DNS, which seems to work fine, likewise putting the name in hosts makes no difference.

Any ideas as I'm lost!

Please ignore as now working!

No idea why CUPS couldn't see the host and had spent ages trying to work that out as opposed to doing what I should have done straight away - stopped and restated CUPS. This worked, which I'm sure won't come as a surprise to most of you!

Sorry if you wasted time reading this (unless it's helpful to someone in 3 months time with the same problem, being as dumn as I was)
