crond logwatch stopped working

I'm running centos 5.7 on a web/email server that used to give me daily logs about what was happening but for some reason this function has stopped, and instead of getting a daily report I now get this is an email:

/etc/cron.daily/0logwatch:
Cannot find shared script applyhttpdate

I went in to a console and found that the log.d folder (which contained applyhttpdate) was missing so I recreated that folder and all it's contents from a backup, restarted crond and xinetd but still the service won't work and I still get the above error every day. The log.d folder and applyhttpdate and everything else is back exactly as it was. Does anyone know how I can get this function back up?

Check if you've got files that look like they are logwatch-related in /etc/log.d/

Ideally, you'd only have to move those files to their correct locations in /etc/logwatch/ and everything's fine.

yes I've fully restored the log.d folder and all it's contents from a backup. Everything that should be there is there.
