cpu usage by linux


Hi

I use RHEL5 and woder how my Linux uses CPU :
- whether it uses full speed of my cpu(s) ?
- whether it uses as much speed as it requires at the moment ?

It utilizes all cores at full speed.
If you have cpuspeed installed which I believe is yes most likely then it will throttle the speed as needed.

This assumes you have a modern processor of course.
