Corrupt tar.gz

Hi,

I have two tar.gz files that when I try and extract are corrupt.

I am able to get a few files out of each but a fraction of what I need.

I have tried to use gzrecover but that doesn't seem to work any better than the standard tar -zxvf command.

Any other tips? Ideas.

Thanks

Hello,

Read the followibng the links, they have a good amount of information about trying to recover data:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2...tar-gz-archive

Cheers,

Josh

Thanks for the reply. Just tried those two, no improvements unfortunately.

Any other ideas? Would it help if I did a fsck on the hd?
