Copy folders from windows to linux keeping privileges

Dear Friends,

I have a question that i really don't know if it could be possible.

Actually, i already have a windows 2k8 as a file server. The shared disk of this server is almost full and i need to move all data to a historic share folder.
To do that, i joined a Centos 6 to my domain for take the users from AD, and a tried to copy all between windows server and linux keepin' data privileges. I did it like that:
Quote:
xcopy C:\Folder_src Z:\folder_dst /O /K /E /X /H
The data was copied but not privileges.

Anyone knows if it could be possible keepin privileges between servers?

P.D.: I thought maybe the problem was the format type of the disk (NTFS on windows and ext4 on LINUX). So i created a new partition and i formated it in NTFS but it doesn't work.

Thanks in advance.

If it were me, I would buy a large external disk and attach it to Windows. Format it under Windows with a Windows file-system with security and permissions turned "on."

Or, consider buying a small SAN ...

Linux has an entirely different concept of permissions (etc.) than Windows does. If these things are fundamentally important to your application, IMHO you should remain under the OS which understands and supports what you are doing and the model-of-things that you are now using.

I read somewhere that samba can support acl's and preserve the NTFS acl's on files stored in samba shares. Never tried it though.

Have you tried robocopy? The links I sent were some explanations, not a solution.
