Connection Timed Out

I am currently running apache2 through rapache on the Ubuntu desktop os. When I enter my IP into a browser connected to my network I get the site instantly, however computers outside my network get the connection has timed out message. I changed my port from 80 to 78 already with no result.

The same thing happens when I am try to access the IP for my mac computer. Am I entering the wrong IP addresses?

I registered a domain this afternoon and what to have that name connected to my computer. Am I too far off course? or is there some minor detail that I am missing?

Thanks,
JT

You probably need to enable port 80 in the local firewall (running on your desktop OS). There's a firewall item in the System menu on Gnome.
