Configuration Management Open Source

Dears,

I'm looking for an open source system to be deployed over Linux environment to make our team able to store all our servers configuration, change requests, taking backups for all our nodes, help us in monitor our servers' health. I've done researches and deployed some systems, I would also be happy to receive your thoughts and ideas.

Thank you.

And as you've been told MANY times in the past, UNLESS YOU PROVIDE DETAILS, WE CANNOT HELP YOU. Doesn't get more plain than that.
  • You say "deployed some systems"...but don't bother to say WHAT you 'deployed'
  • "Change requests" In what format? TXT, DOC, XML, database, driven by web pages? Emails? WHAT???
  • "Taking backups" HOW? Of WHAT? Full/incremental? Retention policies? To what media? Rotated how?
  • "Store all our servers configuration" Configuration of WHAT? There are MANY services that all have different 'configurations'...some in ini files, some .cnf, some in user directories, others in system directories...without knowing, there's nothing much we can tell you.
You've said before that you're an RHCE...and an instructor, no less. These things should be VERY evident if that's the case. You've also posted other questions, which make it seem like you're asking us to do your job for you.

We are very happy to HELP YOU with specific questions, but we aren't the place to come for free consulting advice. If you need help, ask your co-workers/boss, or hire a consultant.

You'd better not answer my question.. if you don't have the experience and knowledge plz discard my posts forever.
This attitude is very bad actually, if I'm asking for a recommended opensource to be used, this means I'm asking for someone to do my job!

I'd better not? Why, what will happen if I do?? Perhaps it's better if you don't threaten people, and actually read the LQ Rules and question guidelines...pay attention to the parts about text-speak. And based on your questions, it seems like YOU are lacking the knowledge to do a job, and are asking us to do it for you.

Again, you've posted a very vague question, as you did here:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...am-4175558900/

...without providing ANY details, or telling us what YOU, PERSONALLY have done to work towards your goals. You make references to things, but don't tell us what they actually ARE. Without that, we aren't going to recommend things you've tried, since that's wasting everyones time. You were asked to provide details, and you didn't...the questions still stand. If you're not going to provide details, then there's not much point in posting questions. This is much the same thing as you've done for three years now:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...se-4175442129/
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ti-4175444881/
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ct-4175449576/
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ls-4175465527/
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...cp-4175469157/
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ut-4175469265/
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...lp-4175473008/
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...er-4175491890/
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...ux-4175505444/

ALL are good examples...questions with little (if any) detail, we have to ask you for things and you won't (or don't) answer, you ignore advice, and ask things that you could find out for yourself. Repeatedly saying "ASAP, bumping your own threads, etc.

If you're not going to read the rules/guidelines and abide by them, and you don't want to put any effort into doing things for yourself, why should we help you?

Then don't bother asking for help, and learn to do your own research (and job).

Tried to, but you just don't seem to have the knowledge to do your job. Don't ask for handouts, and get snotty when you don't get them

Good luck. I asked that in my first reply, along with several other questions.

akamel, you seem to have formed a habit of asking very open ended questions, not providing sufficient information for LQ members to help you and then not following up when they request specifics. If you'd like to continue to utilize LQ for help, please read http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...#faq_lqwelcome and let us know if you have any questions. Thanks.
