Composer not working and no error on centos 7

I have tried to install composer via this method on centos 7.

Code:
yum install composer
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, priorities
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * base: centos.shinjiru.com
 * epel: mirror1.ku.ac.th
 * extras: centos.shinjiru.com
 * ius: ord.mirror.rackspace.com
 * updates: centos.shinjiru.com
153 packages excluded due to repository priority protections
Package composer-1.8.6-1.el7.noarch already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
The problem thereafter is that when I tried to run e.g. composer -V or any command no error etc. How to find the exact issue on this ?

I did a find and saw its install in this folder /usr/share/composer unlike if manual guide it say to be on /usr/lib/bin? So how to resolve this composer to be able to run ?
I have even edit the php.ini to open_basedir = /var/www/html/:/usr/share/composer/ but yet it not working.

The result "no error etc." is not informative.
What is the output?
If there is no output say so: and tell us what the log reports.
You need to give us better information.

Hi Wpeckham,
No output for example when I run composer -V. It just goes to the next line on the terminal.

https://getcomposer.org/doc/00-intro.md
and
https://getcomposer.org/doc/01-basic-usage.md

Is that the tool you're asking about?

So that's a yes? That is the software you're asking about?

The second link is about how to use the software. Obviously, you shouldn't do things you think are already done, like the basic installation, but that looks to be the go-to source for documentation if the install didn't add man pages.

Have you tried man composer on your system?
