Change the ports on Ubuntu Server


How do i set my ubuntu server to use port 4055 for incoming telnets>

Hi,

Edit /etc/services and change the telnet port from 23 tcp/udp to 4055.
Then restart xinetd if telnetd is enabled, or enable it first (editing /etc/xinetd.d/telnet) and then restart xinetd.
