change samba's default delete rule?

hey guys. anybody know of a way to mess with samba or linux in general so when a windows user deletes a file on a samba share it does something other than delete it. Like specifically if the underlying command can be changed from rm to cp, so that you can just have the file copied to another directory on the server, that can be occasionally audited and cleared as necessary. thanks. it'd be awesome if you could.

interesting. I had completed looked over this possibility. I wonder if there is a way for the alias to only apply to certain users or processes(namely samba). thanks for the pointer. anyone else have any ideas, or even better, have done it.
