Centos6.3 server hangs upon bootup
Hello everyone.
I am having a problem with my centos Box hanging on bootup. It is currently hanging at the autoMount load process... He are the changes I had made leading up to this hanging on bootup event shown below: */ I had logged in remotely and upgraded the 'rsyslog' package from I believe 4.x to a 5.x version and then reboot. This system never came back. When I was able to access the server physically I had seen that the server was hanging at the 'NFSD' service so I logged in 'singleuser' mode and turned off the only NFS related service I found which was 'NFSLOCK' and then did a reboot. This time the server is hanging at the 'autoMount' service. I then undid my previous changes but I am still getting hanging at the 'autoMount' service on bootup.... Any suggestions anyone?? |
automount is handled by autofs service.
pls. try: #service autofs stop or type #setup and uncheck autofs save and reboot, and try again. |
have you changed the hostname on box recently?(Note:- it just wild guess based on past expirence)
I would preffer to comment further only after knowing contents of logs what does boot.log say? try getting us the output of dmesg thank you regards |
you can use soft mount option to your mount parameters, you can make filesystem remains active on reboot
