Centos 6 vlc and Virtual Box installation issues

Hi. I have installed centos 6 on my hp prolaint machine and having problems in installing vlc and Virtual Box. There are a lot of dependencies for vlc and similar is the case with Virtual box. I have already updated my centos operating system. It seems that the operating system installed is missing a lot of libraries. How to install all those libraries so that i can install vlc and Virtual box. Secondly, centos 6 lacks libraries on the internet. Anybody know who to solve this issue.

Try adding additional repositories, especially RPMForge. VirtualBox at least should install without a hitch if you're using the RPM package provided by them.
