CentOS 5.5 and external dns server
I need to build an external DNS server for my company. I have downloaded and installed CentOS 5.5. I then followed this URL http://x10hosting.com/forums/vps-tut...tos-5-5-a.html whice told me i needed to go to this URL and install lamp first http://x10hosting.com/forums/vps-tut...tos-5-5-a.html. I understand i need to install Bind however everything i read online talks about installing sql, php, ... I do not understand why i need to install lamp for a dns server. Can someone provide me with what i need to install and config. I am new to linux but have been building windows dns for years. Please help.

you don't need to install it at all, just the relevant bind packages out of yum - "yum install bind". Job done. Other than knowing how to use bind.
