Centos 5.2 and squid

Hi,

At work we run a file server running Centos 5.2. It also acts as a proxy server using squid. There are two IP address that bypas squid and got straight to the router.

Today no internet through squid (but fine on the other two IP address)

No error messages from squid (still running and loging requested sites) and the system doesn't get played around with.

Any guess's at what I should be looking for?

Regards

Luke

Well, if you can get out using the bypass addresses, you know you've got basic network connectivity. Starting with the obvious questions, have you restarted Squid? Tried running it in the foreground on a terminal, to see what you're getting? Do the squid logs show ANY hits to the proxy server, and attempts to get out? Running one NIC or two on the server, and are both NIC's up, with the correct addresses? Link lights to the switch behind the cards? Check the patch cords?

After that, think about your environment. If it WAS working, and now it's NOT...then something has changed. New router/switch in place? Firewall rules?

All sorted - the two that bypassed the proxy worked but were slow. Tried a speedtest and they wouldn't return a result. Phoned BT (UK Provider) to check line. When they ran a full test on the line they also reset the line. After that everything working well again.

Many thanks to TBone for the reply.
