Cannot Start Kerberos services

dear all,

here i would like to inform you that, i have kerberos config that store in /etc/krb5.conf and the service in /etc/init.d is krb524,

and when I start the service krb524 nothing appear as following:
# service krb524 start
#

and the status of krb524 is:
# service krb524 status
krb524d is stopped

and if I restart it:
# service krb524 restart
Stopping Kerberos 5-to-4 Server: [FAILED]

and if I stop it:
# service krb524 stop
Stopping Kerberos 5-to-4 Server: [FAILED]

could anybody help me, what the reason is?

Regards,

Matias

try this solution

According to my knowledge......the service for kerberos is krb5kdc,
just execute commands
chkconfig krb5kdc on
/etc/init.d/krb5kdc restart
i hope it works
