cannot restart httpd service... port 80 already in use

Hi.

I neded to make some changes to the httpd.conf file. Afterwards I tried restarting, but it won't restart. It's saying port 80 is already in use.

after checking via lsof -i :80 I get this result:

[root@cl1 ~]# lsof -i :80
COMMAND PID USER FD TYPE DEVICE SIZE NODE NAME
perl 25459 apache 4u IPv6 8629 TCP *:http (LISTEN)

How do I stop or kill this? I tried to kill (kill 25459) this PID but it will not stop.

Thanks

a perl script? Well "kill -9 25459" would do it just about always, whatever it is.
