Cannot login to webmin on fresh ubuntu 14.4 install

I have 2 machines, the first is a Mint machine I have had for a few years which I have developed some websites locally and the second is a ubuntu 14.04 server that I just installed with the base software. I must have webmin installed on my mint machine b/c I can login to that locally. However, I cannot login to the server.

I am using "https://127.0.0.1:10000/" with the un/pw that I created when I installed the server. Everytime I am getting "Login failed. Please try again." Why am I getting this?

Thanks,
K

webmin requires you have webmin accounts. usually you first login as root, then go into the webmin users section and convert linux users into webmin users.

But I am having trouble logging in to begin with. Is there some way to login to webmin without logging in to a server or machine? Then login to the server?

seriously? yes, you can't login to a non-existant application -- it must be installed. LMAO.

You mention Linux mint, so that would be a .deb or a apt-get method of install. page-down on the document to find 1 of those methods: http://doxfer.webmin.com/Webmin/Installation

In the event that it's already installed and you have a password issue, then look at FAQ #2 here: http://www.webmin.com/faq.html

That's precious. What is more precious is what is listening on 10000 if it's not installed?

Code:
sudo lsof -i :10000
output please.
