Red face cannot get yum to install system-config-bind package

I have installed Oracle linux 5 (this is same as Redhat Linux 5..I think) and trying to installed the system-config-bind package using "yum" with no success. I tried almost two days with lots of research on the net but I didn't found a solution. Please help ... I need this to get it installed.

Here is what I did.

1. I verified following were installed.

yum

createrepos
-----------
Name : createrepo Relocations: (not relocatable)
Version : 0.4.11 Vendor: Oracle USA
Release : 3.el5 Build Date: Thu 22 May 2008 06:50:09 PM EST
Install Date: Sat 24 Mar 2012 08:05:58 PM EST Build Host: ca-build15.us.oracle.com
Group : System Environment/Base Source RPM: createrepo-0.4.11-3.el5.src.rpm
Size : 221261 License: GPLv2
Signature : DSA/SHA1, Mon 26 May 2008 03:47:16 PM EST, Key ID 66ced3de1e5e0159
URL : http://linux.duke.edu/projects/metadata/
Summary : Creates a common metadata repository
Description :
This utility will generate a common metadata repository from a directory of
rpm packages

So ...... looks like they all were installed as part of the server installation.

2. create a directory on the server as
mkdir /root/rpms
copy all *.rpm from the installation DVD to this directory.

3. then prepare the repository
createrepo -p /root/rpms

4. Created the repo file (below is the contents)
[myrepo]
name=My Local repo
baseurl=file:///root/rpms
enabled=1
gpgcheck=0

5. Content of the yum.conf file
main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
keepcache=0
#keepcache=1
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
distroverpkg=redhat-release
tolerant=1
exactarch=1
obsoletes=1
#gpgcheck=1
gpgcheck=0
plugins=1

# Note: yum-RHN-plugin doesn't honor this.
metadata_expire=1h

# Default.
# installonly_limit = 3

# PUT YOUR REPOS HERE OR IN separate files named file.repo
# in /etc/yum.repos.d

---------------------------------------------------
so with all these set up I ran the following.
# yum clean all

# yum install system-config-bind
Loaded plugins: security
Setting up Install Process
No package system-config-bind available.
Nothing to do

#yum repolist
Loaded plugins: security
repo id repo name status
myrepo My Local repo enabled: 0
repolist: 0

So the issue is when I try install system-config-bind it always complaint with "No package system-config-bind available.
Nothing to do".

And I made sure that system-config.bind*.rpm is exists in the /root/rpms directory.

Why doesn't yum apply it, is the reason is yum repolist gives the "enabled:0" ?. Please help. I went through notes on the Net for last two days and I can't get anywhere with this and this is mandatory, as I need to install DNS server for Oracle RAC.

What do you get when you search for system-config-bind in yum? What do you get when you try to install it?

Chaitanya,
Thanks for the reply. I found out a way to install it. I went to the /root/rpm directory where all the RPM's are and did a local install as below.

cd /root/rpms
yum localinstall system-config-bind

And bingo ! it worked. But now I have a different issue, when I starts bind I get the following error. This is a critical
issue as I need the bind to work to set-up the DNS server for Oracle RAC. Is there any clues for why this happening ?
