Can Wake-on-lan be enabled without using the bios menu?
I have a cluster with 50 Dell sc1435 compute nodes running centos7 and would like to enable wake-on-lan on them. I know how to do it from the bios, but would prefer to do it through the command line because even though it's doable, it'd still be a hassle to hook each of them up to the monitor and set them manually.
I tried using nmcli with the "magic" option and ethtool with the "g" option, and those tools show that it's set correctly, but it doesn't work when tested with ether-wake, and the bios still shows "disabled". Does it absolutely require enabling it in the bios?
