Question Can ext2online tool works on ext3.


Hi
My query is i want to use ext2online tool for resizing ext3 filesystem which is LVM volume. Will this tool works as the server on which i have to work is RHEL4 and this server don't has resize2fs tool installed and I have niether RHEL4 iso nor disc.

I have tested this in RHEL 4.7 AS and RHEL 5.3
In RHEL AS 4 you must:
- extend LV with lvextend -L<size> /dev/vg01/lv01
- then ext2online /dev/vg01/lv01

In RHEL 5:
- extend LV with lvextend -L<size> /dev/vg01/lv01
- then resize2fs /dev/vg01/lv01 <size>

There is no need to unmount the FS.
