Can't write to Seagate Blackarmor NAS thru CIFS mount

Hi All,
I've got a Seagate Blackarmor NAS which I can mount with CIFS to my Centos 5 server fine but only root can read and write to it. All other users can only read. I've tried several different mount options but results are always the same.

My current fstab line:
// /mnt/blackbird cifs rw,user,uid=bacula,gid=disk,file_mode=0117,dir_mode=0117,user=bacula,password=bacula 0 0

Specific issue: I'm trying to connect the the NAS so Bacula, a backup app, can write backups to it. "bacula" is set up as a user on the NAS. BTW, I'm pretty sure the OS on the NAS is Linux, and I can connect through windows and write fine.

Any suggestions appreciated! thanks!

Just a guess, but did you try file and dir_mode=0777? Your permissions currently are u=x, g=x, o=rwx (0117). Anyone in group disk might be limited by the g=x. User bacula will probably be limited by u=x.

Thanks for the reply.
I did try various permissions on the dir_mode. But nothing worked. I ended up mounting the partition as an NFS mount. The Seagate Black Armor NAS supports that. The trick is to get the path right on the "mount" command. It is not obvious but any share set up on the Black Armor NAS has as it's root /DataVolume.

So my line in fstab: /mnt/blackbird nfs rw,user 0 0

That works with no problems.

Thanks again. I'll mark this solved.
