cache squid is allways empty


Hello:

I have a problem with a cache squid, squid not generate files on the cache dir.

* I have a squid as a reverse proxy.
* My version of squid is 3.0.RC1.
* On the cache dir structure I have a lot of directories, but all are empty.
* The cache dir have 777 permissions on all structure
* The store log have a content like these

* My operating system is Ubuntu 8.04 LTS
* Squid is working fine since 1 years
* We have a average of 180 users per day

Code:
egrep -v '(^$|^#)' /etc/squid3/squid.conf
and why don't you update to any squid3 stable version.

I can't identify anything wrong, remove cache-webmail (/usr/local/squid/var/cache-webmail) folder, shutdown squid and run a squid -z to create the cache directories again, then start the squid to see if that work.

Hello pliqui, I tried to recreate the cache and nothing happend.

May I need to upgrade the version of squid ?

Sorry for the delay post, yes, you should get the latest stable squid-3.0.STABLE16, or if you are using any distro with repository (debian, fc, red hat, etc)get the latest. Do that and let me know.

Save your squid.conf file, after the new install try the default conf to see if that working, then backup that conf and add yours.

Let me know if that work.
