boot stuck

Every time at boot, our server shows a message
Code:
The disk drive for /data is not ready yet or not present
Continue to wait; or press S to skip mounting or M for manual recovery
and it stuck at this point until someone press S to skip. After login, we are able to solve the problem.
Since the server is in a remote site, how can we tell ubuntu to automatically skip the message?

if it was a mount simply remove it from fstab or probably you can try the noauto option

Are you on a RAID solution as you'll want to be careful before removing drives / removing the option to mount drives?

Thanks for the replies. Indeed I found that adding "nobootwait" to the fstab (for /data) will automatically skip that message. Later I have to manually mount the drive.

Could probably toss the mount command in rc.local. There could be some weird kernel driver or something preventing the volume from mounting on first boot, so it should work then. May have to use "sleep x" if the command doesn't work immediately.
