Bind 9.3 configuration

I loaded Centos 5 and it is using bind 9.3 and once again they have changed @$@#$#@# around and the config files obliously reside in another place. Why in the @#$@$@$@$@# cant the linux community standarize file locations instead of switching $@$@$ around everytime there is a new release.Is there a way that I can run named in debug mode and see what each line is doing?. Where are they storing the zone files now. I am trying to figure out what my problem is with loading up bind. I have looked at the log files and they say:

PHP Code:
ar 19 20:09:53 XXX namedzone test.com/INloading master file zone.com.testfile not found
Mar 19 20
:09:53 XXX namedlocalhost_resolver/test.com/INfile not found
Mar 19 20
:09:53 XXX namedzone localhost/INloading master file localhost.zonefile not found
Mar 19 20
:09:53 XXX namedlocalhost_resolver/localhost/INfile not found
Mar 19 20
:09:53 XXX namedzone 0.0.127.in-addr.arpa/INloading master file 127.0.0.zonefile not found
Mar 19 20
:09:53 XXX namedlocalhost_resolver/0.0.127.in-addr.arpa/INfile not found
Mar 19 20
:09:53 XXX namedzone 3.168.192.in-addr.arpa/INloading master file revp.192.168.3.0file not found
Mar 19 20
:09:53 XXX namedlocalhost_resolver/3.168.192.in-addr.arpa/INfile not found
and when I run it it say:

PHP Code:
 /etc/init.d/named start
Starting named

Error in named configuration:
zone test.com/INloading master file zone.com.testfile not found
localhost_resolver
/test.com/INfile not found
zone localhost
/INloading master file localhost.zonefile not found
localhost_resolver
/localhost/INfile not found
zone 0.0.127
.in-addr.arpa/INloading master file 127.0.0.zonefile not found
localhost_resolver
/0.0.127.in-addr.arpa/INfile not found
zone 3.168.192
.in-addr.arpa/INloading master file revp.192.168.3.0file not found
localhost_resolver
/3.168.192.in-addr.arpa/INfile not found
I have place the zone files in /var/named/chroot/. I have created symbolic link in /var/named to point to /var/named/chroot. So I am stuck!

I haven't had a problem with files being moved around. The /etc/named.conf file will contain the locations of your other files. Have a look in the options section for the directory entry. It should be something like this:
Code:
options {
  directory "/var/named";
  query-source address * port 53;
  listen-on {
    127.0.0.1;
    };
  listen-on {
    192.168.0.1;
    };
};

I understand what happened now. There is a difference when you have a standard package like bind installed and another package called cache-nameserver to have your system act as a caching server. There are some config differences that I wasnt used to seeing. Thanks for the help. I will post the differences and what I did to resolve my issue. thanks
