Basic step to configure ASSP with MTAs

Hi i am Viknesh,

I have been assigned with a project to analyze the performance of ASSP(Anti Spam SMTP Proxy) with various MTAs(Mail Transfer Agents) like Sendmail, Postfix and qmail.

I have been given a system with FC7. I downloaded ASSP and i installed all the necessary modules and it is running successfully.
Then i started with installing Sendmail. Then i found that i need to create a domain name, host name and MX record.

How can i create those things in a single machine?
Further i need to configure Sendmail with ASSP. Can anyone suggest me with some good procedures which you might have followed while installing in your system or which you might have seen some where.
Also if possible suggest some analysis tools that could analyze the performance with the MTAs.

Thanks in advance.

First thing you need to do is to get rid of FC7. That is ANCIENT, and will not support the latest versions of software without some serious modifications, if at all. The latest is Fedora 13, and if this is going to be a production server, you should load CentOS instead.

After that, if you checked Google, you'd find MANY sendmail how-to's that explain how to set up MX records, domain names, etc., such as this one:

Spamassasin is also covered as an effective anti-spam tool, and again, has many how-tos you can easily find.
